How to create a parts package/kit

Modified on Wed, 14 Aug at 3:30 PM

This function is used to bundle up multiple parts in your system to create a new part, known as a pack or a kit. There are 2 types of kits you can create, and this will determine at what stage the parts that make up the kit are removed from your QOH (Quantity on Hand).

Process:

  1. Open Create New Package screen
  2. Add/Enter package part number
  3. Add individual part numbers and their qty that make up the pack
  4. Select Package/Kit Type
  5. Enter Make Pack QTY
  6. Create and Save

Creating a Parts Package

In the Parts Enquiry screen click Make Pack

The Create New Package screen is separated into 2 sections:
- The top section of the screen displays basic pack information such as pack part number, pack pricing, and QOH.
- The bottom section of the screen is used to detail each part that makes up the pack.

To create the pack, enter in the pack part number, or Add/Activate Part if it doesn’t exist.

Please note, the pack/kit number has to be its own part number, and cannot be the same as any of the parts that it is made up of.

In the bottom section, enter in all the parts with their respective quantities that make up the kit.

You will need to select the Package/Kit Type.

  • Pack (Pre-Made Package) – when this type is selected and created, the QOH for all the parts that make up the kit will decrease, and the pack QOH will increase.

  • Kit (Pack Made Only When Sold) – when this type is selected and created, the QOH for all the parts that make up the kit will only decrease when the pack is sold, and the pack QOH will effectively stay at 0 QOH.

Once you have entered all the required information, you can select how many packs you would like to make in the bottom left of the screen, and click Create Package.

If you do not want to create the pack and just save for a future use, click Save Package.

Reversing a Pre-Made Package

To reverse a Pre-Made Package, and put the individual part quantities back into stock, enter the packs details, but put a -1 (or however many you want to reverse) in the Make Qty field.

Reversing the package will not remove the pack part number from your system, it will only re-allocate the parts quantities.
