At the end of each day, or at the start of the following day, you should complete your daily banking. This process ensures that any money received is applied to its relevant invoice.
- In the Accounts Receivable tab, click Bank Deposits.
- Select the Bank Account you received the money in, then click New Banking.
- Enter the Date the money hit the bank account.
- Select the Payment Type.
- Enter the Amount you received.
- Start typing the Client in the Payment From field. If you keep the box below ticked, only clients that owe you money for outstanding invoices will be displayed.
- Tick the Line Item that displays the invoice that the money for received for.
- Click Record.
- You will now see that the amount received has moved to the bottom half of the screen. Click Post to complete the banking.
