How to refund a credit amount in debtors

Sometimes customers will either overpay invoices or a sale will fall through that already has money banked against it. In cases like these you may be required to fund the money to the customer.


  1. In the Accounts Payable tab, click Make Payments, then Bulk Payments and Transfers.


  2. Use the 3 dots to select your Debtors Account.
  3. Select the customer (you can see in the screenshot below that the credit is in brackets), and then click Payment.


  4. Select the Bank Account you will be refunding from.
  5. Enter the Payment Date, Payment Type, a Reference, and a Narration.
  6. Select the link item to refund, then click Post.
