How to edit a payment

You can edit any of the payment details such as amount, bank account, or date and repost it as long as the payment hasn't been reconciled.


As you can only edit unreconciled transactions, you can untick the reconciled and void status filters in the top right hand side of the screen to help you filter through to find your payment


  1. In the Accounts Payable tab, click the EFT Register or Cheque Register icons, depending on the payment type. 


  2. Search for your payment by filtering using any of the below filters:

    AccountSelect the bank account the payment was made from.
    From and To: Select the same From and To Date the payment was made or a range if you are unsure of the exact date.
    Search Field: Select any of these options to assist you any further, for example select Client# from the drop down.
    Search TextThis is where you can enter the text that matches the Search field you selected, for example when you select Client #, you will type in the client ID number.


  3. Once you have your search filters entered, click the Binoculars icon to search. 


  4. Highlight the payment and click Edit from the bottom right-hand side of the screen. The system will now bring up the creditors payment screen or “Raise Invoice & Pay Bill” screen, depending on the way you processed the payment.


  5. From here, you can edit any of the details that link to the payment, such as bank account, date paid, the amount or narration, once you've made your adjustments, click Post & Exit.
