How to bank EFTPOS receipts

Modified on Thu, 20 Feb at 10:30 AM

At the end of each day, or at the start of the following day, you should complete your daily banking. This process ensures that any money received is applied to its relevant invoice.

Before starting this process you will need the Eclipse Daily Banking Report along with your EFTPOS slips

The below example will demonstrate how to complete your EFTPOS banking against the daily sales report.

  1. In the Accounts Receivable tab, click Bank Deposits.

  2. Select the Bank Account you received the money in, then click New Banking.

  3. Enter the Date the money was taken.
  4. Select the Payment Type.
  5. Enter the Amount you received.
  6. Start typing the Client in the Payment From field. If you keep the box below ticked, only clients that owe you money for outstanding invoices will be displayed.
  7. Tick the Line Item that displays the invoice that the money for received for.
  8. Click Record.

  9. You will now see that the amount received has moved to the bottom half of the screen. As the next 2 transactions on the report are under the same client (Cash Sale), enter the total of those invoices ($87.10) in the Amount field, and tick both of the Invoice Lines. Click Record.

  10. When you have marked all the EFTPOS slips as entered, and the total in the bottom of the banking screen matches the total on the report, click Post to complete the banking.
