Vehicle Stock Uploader

Modified on Thu, 19 Jun at 11:35 AM

Eclipse Export is the utility that sends vehicle feeds to third-parties - including online vehicle marketplaces or dealership websites. The utility checks for changes in stock details (pricing, photos, sold status) and sends the updated information every 60 seconds.

This utility will send to UBS central server first, before being sent out to each final destination. Total time to reach the destination marketplace/website could be up to 45 minutes and excludes processing time on their end. Troubleshooting data feed issues requires:

  1. Checking Stock Uploader is running at the dealership (and check for any validation or stock errors presented when running, for example, missing pricing or other stock details that might prevent data uploaded).
  2. Checking with UBS server data has been received and distributed to the required destinations.
  3. Checking the destinations that data has been received, processed and published.

NOTE: The process and troubleshooting will be different for users of Eclipse Aura.

Troubleshooting and IT Maintenance

The Export utility requires to be open for each Eclipse databases the dealership has. Most dealerships have 1 database, but for multi-branch setup, sometimes these can be separate into different databases for the different companies.

As the utility is running continually, it is usually designated to run on the SQL server. If this machine is shutdown or rebooted, it will disrupt the stock feed. After a restart, it will be required to be manually re-started.

To check it is running, it may be in the icon/taskbar tray:

To start, look for the UBSVehicleExport or Eclipse Export application located in the \Program files (x86\Eclipse folder.

Once running, the utility will indicate the chosen PC it will run from. If opened from another PC, it will not send data unless the sending PC is reassigned.

NOTE: Avoid designating to run on a Terminal Server.

To select a different database or upload machine, see the System menu. If using for multiple databases, the utility will need to be opened additional for each database.

Stock Validation Issues

If select vehicles or changes to specific vehicles are not being reflected on the destination website or marketplace, then stock vehicle may not have valid information for all required fields - such as online pricing, build dates, colours, or other criteria.

You can view the report from the utility by clicking the report button:

Or, from within Eclipse Stock & Accounting module, navigate to Stock Upload Reports under Reports.
