If you have been given the Eclipse build download link, you can run the file to install. The below guide will show how to install Eclipse without needing to contact our support helpdesk, by copying details from another PC at the dealership that is already running the Eclipse software.
Installing the program
- On a PC that is already using Eclipse, open any of the modules, and click on the Help tab.
- Click Updates Folder. This is the directory that holds the Eclipse versions.
- Copy the Folder Pathway into File Explorer on the PC you are wanting to install Eclipse on.
- Double click on the most recent Eclipse build, and follow the prompts to install the program.
Mapping the database
Once the Eclipse program has been installed, you will need to link the database.
- On a PC that is already running Eclipse, open the Log In page and click +.
- Write down the Server Name and the Catalog (database name).
- Open Eclipse on the new PC, click +, then click Add.
- Choose the option for Microsoft SQL Server and click Next.
- Enter the Server Name and the Database Name.
- You might be able to get the SQL Username and Password from your IT, otherwise our support team can assist.
- Click Next.
- Click Test Connection. Once connected successfully you can rename the database.
You will only have to do this once, the database information will be carried across all Eclipse modules
